Trentini Americani Memory Project – 2021 FUNDRAISING APPEAL

Vincenzo Mancuso is a documentary filmmaker who conducted interviews of 27 of our members in Washington, Idaho, and Montana in 2017 and 2018. Vincenzo, who has studied and worked in Bolzano, Italy, curates ITALO/AMERICANI, a platform/archive where memories dedicated to Italian Americans are shared. Vincenzo was featured in the newspaper ItaloAmericano.

Vincenzo is now fundraising for a project that is near and dear to our hearts: the Trentini Americani memory project that features the immigration experience of Trentini in the United States. Vincenzo needs our support to turn the interviews he has gathered into a documentary. He has previously produced some great documentary films of Trentini Americani across the US.

There is a $2000 matching donation, that expires on June 1st, 2021 that will double your donation! Here is the link for you to see a short film clip with some of the interviewees and to contribute – .

Michael Job, a member of the Circolo Trentino di San Francisco, and a supporter of this project, recently wrote: “A good reason to be excited about this project is that it can be passed down from generation to generation, to grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They will hear and see stories of their ancestors. Your donation to this project will help keep these family histories alive.”

Please donate whatever you can and help Vincenzo reach his fundraising goal! Thanks!

Trentino was hit by a terrible storm at the end of October 2018, which resulted in flooding, mudslides, significant number of trees that were toppled, and the damage from all of those.

We received the following the request from the Province asking for every Trentino/a to consider helping.

Trentino request

Please consider this important request from Antonella Giordani in Trento, whom some of you know from coordinating the Youth Exchange activities.
